Our opinion on the Muscleres Beach
On the edge of Sant Marti of Empuries and facing the ruins of Empuries, there is the beach of Muscleres of the Escala (also nicknamed Ruines beach). Cut into two areas, the right and the classic part with a stretch of sand about 300 meters long with some pines. The left area is more original. It is located on a sandy point with a few islets nearby and a small restaurant on the sand. We go from one zone to another by a wooden footbridge. The place is very nice and peaceful, away from the seaside bustle.
You can access to this beach from the beach of Portitxol or by the center of Sant Mari. Both car parks are paying.

Facing the ruins of Empuries, Muscleres beach is the last beach of the Escala. It is 5 minutes by foot from Sant Marti of Empuries.
In the distance, it is the village of the Escala with the natural park of Montgri in the background.
The beach is divided into two areas. On the left, we have a sandy point that marks the separation with the beach of Moll Grec from Sant Marti of Empuries.
On the tip, a very pleasant small Chiringuinto…
…to go from one zone to another, a wooden footbridge.
Some small islands, mattresses for rent and a shower…this beach of the point is very pleasant.
Along the pedestrian promenade, we find the Ruins of Empuries…
…with a beautiful view on the beach and the islets.
The pedestrian promenade between the Escala and Sant Marti of Empuries is very pleasant. The bike path is slightly off.
