Our opinion on the Rec del Moli Beach
Rec del Moli beach is the first of the so-called beaches of Empuries, the one north of the Escala, between the center of the Escala and Sant Père Pescador. Sandy beach with pleasant finery since it is surrounded by a pine forest on the left and dunes on the right. Except for a « guinguette », there is a little animation other than that provided by visitors themselves : no paddle boat, no floating carpet, not even a mattress for rent. The environment is self-sufficient. The bike path and the pedestrian path allow you to reach ecologicly the other creeks of Empuries, further north, as well as the archeological site of the same name, just 500 meters away, remains of Greek and Roman antiquity. The canal opening on the right of the beach, the Rec del Moli, is a reserve with interesting biodiversity. To recommend also : the visit of the medieval village of Sant Marti of Empuries, a little further north.

Beach with the entirely natural environment, on the edge of the city of the Escala.
Natural, but with very neat amenities, including the bike path, footpath and walkway that can help people with mobility issues.
The seabed slopes gently, a safety for children.
The view of the Escala in the south does not spoil the landscape, quite the contrary.
A guinguette, in the shade in the evening, near the most pleasant entrance to the beach.
You can quench your thirst, and eat too.
The dunes and the river is torwards the bottom of the beach.
The parking is on the left, leaving the field free to cycle on this beautiful shaded path.
As well as the strollers on the coastal path. To reach the archeological site, for example. Or one of the other beaches on this coast of Empuries.
