Our opinion on the Riells Beach
Riells beach of Escala is a long beach, urbanized, not always with good taste, but which has a lot of seasonal rental opportunities, shops, bars and restaurants. It also has a playground for children and is accessible to disabled. North oriented, it is sometimes prone to tramontane, but has taken adavantage of this inconvinient. In fact, the yacht club is situated on the right, near the port of Clota, is the meeting point of all kinds of sailors : windsurfers, skateboarders, diverters, keelboats or of catamarans.
If you search a little, along the beach, you will find the statues of the Little Prince (who gives his name to a parallel street) of Saint Exupery, as one of the fox of the tale.
On the right, the port gives a nice activity to the beach and countless mini cruises or excursiosns to Meds islands, south or the Cape Creus, north.

Big beach north oriented, facing the bay of Roses and at Cape Creus. Two steps away from the beaches of Empuriabrava.
Quiet large promenade with just few palms at the entry…
…and quite a lot concrete behind.
The seabed is gently sloping.
We note a rather coarse and grey sand.
Umbrellas try to add a bit af exoticism.Hmm…tropical to be honest.
Tramontane blowing from the north is sometimes an inconvinient for people on the beach…
…but it is an asset for nautical activities on sailing. The nautical center is in the center of the port, Career Romeu de Corbera.
A company proposes several excursions by boat, commented in several languages.
