Our opinion on the Artola and Cabopino Beaches
North of Marbella and near Fuengirola, Cabopino beach and Artola beach are among the most beautiful beaches of the Marbella / Malaga district and without a doubt among the most wild provided you move away from the port of Cabopino.
Two really different areas. The first around the Cabopino harbor (Puerto Cabopino) is classic : several chiringuitos with mattress rental and summer monitoring. We are on a classic beach near the amenities. During summer, nautical activities are proposed. Pleasant area but uncrowded … More south (500 meters from the port), the beach becomes totaly wild and undeveloped. It is bordered by the Artola dunes (very well laid out, a nice promenade on the dunes on a wooden path allows to walk easily). The beach becomes naturist fast (even if we find textils) and gay according to the zones. Moderate attendance in the southern part (you have to walk), we can easily find a calm place.
Provided you do not have to be modest, this beach of Artola is very pleasant and one of the wildest of the Costa del Sol. A favorite !
Parking is paying for the port side but free at the dunes (big parking quickly full in summer, especially the weekend).
To get to this beach comming from Marbella, take the A7 in direction of Malaga. Take Cabopino exit. At the roundabout take the first right. Parking on the right.

It is north of Marbella that we find the Port of Cabopino and its sandy beach. This picture shows the area near the port, the most family area.
Well equipped beach in the nearest area from the port with matress rentals, monitoring station and restaurant.
But as soon as you get away from the harbor, the beach starts to become naturist.
Puerto de Cabopino is a small urbanization like there is a lot in the surroundings with hotels, resorts, ...
The beach becomes quickly wild and the houses give way to a vast dune massif. Bridges allow to walk in the dunes of Artola and thus reach the wildest areas of the beach (to the south).
In the south area, the beach is almost totally naturist.
