Located almost at the foot of the Gardens of Cap Roig, Cala del Golfet (Golfet cove) is the southernmost cove of Calella de Palafrugell. Away from the main roads, it's a rugged cove rich in wild beauty, surprisingly few foreign tourists, and that's good because its small area fills up fast. Its distance from the centre, where there are already other interesting coves like Canadell, Port-Bo, witheasier accesses, makes it the great unknown in the region. However, its untamed beauty is very different from that of the other coves of Calella.
Not well equipped, given the physical setting, but very clean waters for swimmers and divers. It is sheltered from the north wind, the Tramontana. In the distance, there are the Formigues Islands, which, in addition to the cliffs that make up the shore line, help in strengthening its beauty. Cala Golfet is a paradise for snorkelling, deep scuba diving, but is also very nice to simply explore the seabed between the rocks, with a mask and snorkel. Guaranteed to find colourful fish!
To get there, from carrer Castellets, take the narrow stairs and follow the coastal path. You can also reach the cove from Calella de Palafrugell by the coastal walkway (about 35 minutes).
