Canadell Beach (Platja del Canadell) is located in the village of Calella de Palafrugell. It is a popular beach in the summer. Facing south, it is composed of fine yellow sand. This is undoubtedly a jewel. Small village of white or coloured houses, old fishermen houses and boats resting on the beach. Canadell Beach, with its colourful doors and its elegant mansions is magnificent. With its narrow streets, two-storey houses with tiled roofs, Calella de Palafrugell is one of those few places in the Costa Brava which retain the charm of yesteryear. This postcard landscape is bordered by a coastal trail joining the Bay of Llafranc and the gardens of Cap Roig. After swimming, you can sample in restaurants a delicious Cremat, specialty of coffee with the village rum. Calella remains a fishing village. It has kept of this activity some traditional sea shanties that you can discover every summer during the festival of "Habaneras", sailors’ songs inspired by the sailors who went to seek their fortune in Cuba.
