Our opinion on the South Beach
The south beach of Empuriabrava stretches from the mouth of the Muga to the central beach. Very similar to the central area, this sandy beach is a little less crowded in the extreme south (this area is not supervised). Approaching the center, there is a first aid station (before Maragali street). Note that swimming in the Mug ais forbidden, soi t is advisable to move away from the mouth.
There is a restaurant on the promenade at the Muga and a second one at the first aid station. It is also possible to rent sunbeds.
Parking is done directly along the road.

Photos of the South Beach
It is from the south of Empuriabrava that one realizes the size of this beach. Beautiful view of the Pyrenees, the French border is close.
Some not very nice buildings in front of the sea…really too sad…
The beach ends at the level of the Muga (river which has its source in th Pyrenees, nice walk to do along it from the beach, we can reach Castello of Empuries).
At the mouth of the Muga (bathing prohibited), there is a sandbank. On the other side, the beach becomes wilder.
The pedestrian promenade allows you to reach the central zone. You will find at the end a restaurant.
