Our opinion on the Can Comes Beach
South of the mouth of the Muga, we find the beach of Can Comas of Empuriabrava which is located in a nature reserve (Natural Park of Aiguamolls of Emporda). Here no equipment, only vast expanse of sand about 4 kilometers bordered by small dunes and by two campings on both ends. We are far from the atmosphere of the Costa Brava with its denatured seafront…we are getting closer to the French beaches of the Camargue. Access is quite difficult unless you stay in one of the two campsites. In summer, it is possible to go through the south beach of Empuriabrava (you have to wet your feet to cross the Muga).

Here is a wild beach south of Empuriabrava that stretches for about 4 kilometers to Sant Père Pescador. We are in a nature reserve bordered by some dunes.
On both ends, there are campsites directly on the beach. In the picture, we have the one of the north (closest to Empuriabrava).
We are on the edge of this beach and that of Empuriabrava at the mouth of the Muga.
Here is the Muga on the side of the center of Empuriabrava. You have to cross at the end of the sandbank to go to the beach.
