Our opinion on the Sant Pol Beach
One of the resorts that has been successful since the 1920s. The seniority of some opulent villas testifies.
It is not so common on the Costa Brava : the beach of Sant Pol de Sant Feliu de Guixols is a spot of surf and windsurf. Without competing with Hawaii, the waves breaking regularly are appearently pleasant and easy. Authorization to surf to check in season. It is also a place where kids are spoiled : club on the beach (Park of the Dunes) and even floating areas of games watched on the water, pedalos, etc.
Bay open to the sea with shallow waters, Sant Pol is family advised. The resort is desperately trying to preserve its coastal dune cord, unique ecosystem but a little skinny ; the efforts of the municipality are commendable.
Also commendable, many rowing boats, paddles, sail, motor, as well as the possibility of scuba diving. Watch out for agoraphobia : in the middle of the summer, we are close to overpopulation.

Beach arranged from the 20s thanks to the establishment of the baths of Sant Pol, their own style is noted by the different waves of development, from the oldest to the most recent.
Come early ! The beach is not very wide and attracts the world.
The umbrella and mattress rental companies are in several places.
On the left, it is really very narrow. We guess a river on the left, which can become quite round in autumn. On the heights, a luxury hotel.
The bathing channel is well defined, as well as the mooring buoys, stormed, relegated far enough off.
Even modernize, the presence of cabins tells the age of the beach and the modesty of then. Unlike the newer resort, the promenade passes behind the shops on the waterfront. At least on the left side.
We try to fix what is left of the dune. Not easy with so many visitors…
The Taverna del Mar and its unstoppable view of the bay.
A floating play area and monitored. Not very rare but nice still.
Nice wave that makes Sant Pol a listed surf spot. We did not see any surfers. Is practice limited in high season ?
On the right, the crowd is impressive, for an end of season (end of August).
The original sea establishment, created in 1919 by Manuel Bosch.
Some crested villas have become a little symbol of the resort, and its seniority. Note the finesse and originality of the roof bells.
Out of season, the beach is quieter…
