Begur Raco Beach (Platja del Raco) is the largest beach of Begur and a classic too. Classic in the sense that this is not a typical cove but a long straight strip of sand as follows in the non-rocky coastline of the Costa Brava and the Costa Dorada. With its restaurant-bar on the sand, its beach equipment for hire and its visitors placed along the shore. It is distinguished by its large width, the few services it offers (beach equipment hire) and its rocky proximity to the cute little naturist cove Illa Roja. A good place if you like to compromise beach / cove.
This photo reflects the uniform width of the beach. Crowded, but certainly not overcrowded.
Only long beach of Begur, it also has a nice view of the Medes Islands, off the coast of Estartit and, further along the rocky coast of Roses.
To the right, it still faces Begur, with its rocky coastline and enchanting coves.
