Our opinion on the Poniente Beach
Less touristy than the beach of Levante, the beach of Poniente is the biggest beach of Benidorm. It extends on more than 3 km from the port to the hill of Tossal de la Cala at the level of the city center of La Cala. Fine sandy beach with all the equipments of an urban beach, it is more classic that that of Levante even if some skyscrapers reminds us of the specific architecture of Benidorm. The pedestrian promenade and its waterfront are less internationalized (or less in excess), we find more a classic resort of Spain with its many buildings without charm. The beach is magnificent, with fine sand, many equipments (first aid stations, mattress rentals, beach volleyball, well-equipped access…) a classic urban beach but that will suit most holidaymakers. West, the beach is larger and less frequented (we start to be a little far from the center of Benidorm). The animation is less important than on Levante, the atmosphere more family.

Poniente is the biggest beach of Benidorm. We are on the port side of Benidorm (near the old town).
East, the beach is more frequented and the best equipped, we are close to the living area of Benidorm.
More than 3 km of fine sand. In the distance, it is Cala with the same architecture as Benidorm (skyscrapers).
Public spaces are numerous here, especially if we move away from the East zone.
West, we are at the level of the locality of Cala. The beach is large and less frequented (we are a bit further than the lively center of Benidorm).
At the end of the beach, the hill of Tossal de la Cala.
Very urban environment with many buildings on the seafront but with less skyscrapers.
View from la Cala, the beach is huge with a nice view on the Sierra Helada (ou Serra Gelada).
Also some skyscrapers on this side of the beach but they are less numerous.
