Tarragona has many relics of the Roman epoch of which a huge amphitheatre with in the centre the ruins of a church. The old medieval city is enlivened with small very nice pedestrianized alleyways. It is one of the nicest of the region. On the contrary, Tarragona became an important harbour city with the biggest petrochemical site of Spain its seafront is therefore disfigured …
On the side of the beaches of Tarragona, it is possible to find better on the Costa Daurada. The beach in the city centre is adjacent to the marina, in the industrial harbour, in the road and in the railway They understand why it is not very tourist! More in the East, beaches become more interesting. The beach of Arrabassada is more tourist and better equipped. A little farther, that of Savinosa is cut up in two zones among which one where naturism is allowed.
Tarragona did not see tourism only, it is one of the Catalonia cities where unemployment is the weakest! The seaside side is in some kilometres in the southwest in the seaside stations of Salou and of Cambrils where a completely concreted coast is found! North side, in about 50 minutes, Sitges is one of the nicest stations in the province of Barcelona.
