Beaches in La Isleta (Andalusia) Spain - advise, map and photos

Two steps from San José, in the natural park of Cabo de Gata, the fishermen’s village of La Isleta del Moro as conserve its charm of yesteryear with its little white houses, its colored boats on the beach and its restaurants where we can taste fresh fish. Here no grotesque construction, only of small pensions or cottages in the vicinity.

There are several beaches at La Isleta del Moro. That of del Arco is located outside the village by taking San José street. It is the wildest beach but it is not our favorite … even if it is one of the most beautiful of Andalusia !  The most pleasant one is in the center of the village (Penon Blanco), on the north coast. Fine sand, shredded cliffs of different colors, calm sea and relaxed atmosphere … some had even forgotten their swimsuit … quite rare for an urban beach.

The surroundings of La Isleta are remarkable. This natural park is part of the jewels of Andalusia. We are far from the architecture of Costa del Sol. We love the atmosphere and the beaches of San José (it is a good base) and year 60 atmosphere of Las Negras with its hippie population.
