Rare are urban beaches to offer a wild environment. It is lost in a small hamlet of Nijar in the north of Andalusia that we find the beach of Penon Blanco two steps from the center of the fishermen’s village of Isleta del Moro in the natural park of Cabo de Gata. The presence of motorhomes and of vans on the dirt car park of this beach ads the baba cool side of this beach (several hippie camps established themselves in this natural park of the north of Andalusia).
Access to the beach is only made by stairs. Here no equipment (which is very rare on Spanish beaches, in general exploit to the maximum for their financial side), just a sublime view on the volcanos of Cabo de Gata and on the steep cliffs in the Mediterranean sea. Some discreet naturists (nothing official but nothing forbids) put themselves along the cliffs at the main access … surprising access to a beach as easy to access and close to the center … the atmosphere is very relaxed despite the presence of our camera lens which embarrasses certain persons on the French beaches …
Uncrowded even in summer … amazing for a paradise like this. Our favorite in northern Andalusia. Easy access from San José following the ALP-826. Parking on the left before arriving in the village of Isleta del Moro.
