Our opinion on the Playazo Beach
4 km from the center of Rodalquilar, the beach of Playazo is part of the jewels of the natural park of Cabo de Gata. Surrounded by high cliffs, it is monitored on the left by an 18th century fort (defense battery of the Almeria coast, it is a private property, and can not be visited) and has extraordinary dimensions for a wild zone (400 meters long for 100 meters wide according to sectors). Very little equipment during our visit, only a small restaurant on the ledge …and a rustic parking accessible by a 2 kilometers long track (in good condition).
The beach is vaste but the size of the parking limits the attendance. The right side of the beach is wilder and can be frequented by naturists. Good diving spot according to an amateur … On the left side, near the fort, some creeks houses naturists.
To get to this beach coming from San José, follow the direction of the north by the ALP-826. 2 km after Rodalquilar,a dirt track goes on the right (beach well indicated) and joins the beach.

Preserved environment for this main beach of Rodalquilar (about 4 km from the center).
Deep beach with a relatively fine sand. Swimming is renowned as secure (the se ais always calm in this area).
To the right, the beach because less and less crowded. Beautiful view of the volcanic chain of this park of Cabo de Gata.
On the left, nice view on the castle of San Ramon (built in 1764, one of the 9 forts built on the initiative of Carlos III of Almeria in Malaga to monitor the coast, it is private).
Nothing to say ... this beach is one of the most beautiful ones of Andalusia ...
400 meters long, more than 100 meters wide according to the sectors ... an exceptional beach.
A path (poor condition for a car) allows us to join the fort of San Ramon. On the side, some creeks mostly frequented by naturists.
The parking is on the right ... rather rudimentary ...
