Our opinion on the Papagayo Beach
Those coming to Lanzarote to enjoy the beaches, it is here south-east of the island that they have to come ! This beach of Papagayo is without a doubt the msot beautiful beach of Lanzarote and is even listed in the TOP10 of the Canary beaches.
Backed up to a dune ans stuck with two tips, this sandy creek has an exceptional setting in a totally preserved environment (it is protected). We have the sensation to be on a remote island away from mass tourism (yeti t is only 2 km as the crow flies). Mask and tuba are Masque et snorkel are mandatory to fully enjoy the underwater. We will only regret the presence of three restaurants on the heights who can be noisy following the periods … bu titi s the Spanish animation !
Those looking for more calm will go to the neighboring creeks (but they are less sheltered in case of wind).
Coming from the LZ-2 (coming from the north), signs indicate the beach. Access by a track (in good condition, a little dust). Access is paying (3€ per vehicle). Parking nearby from the creek (follow the signs, very well indicated).

Beautiful sandy creek backed up to a huge dune and protected by two tips.
Totally desert environment for this creek of Lanzarote. We are in a protected area.
All along this coast of the south-east of Lanzarote, many sandy beaches. That of Papagayo has the advantage of being protected.
On a clear day, we have a view on the coast of Fuerteventura (north part) and especially on the beautiful dunes of Corralejo.
This concealed creek has the big advantage to be very well sheltered from dominant winds.
For the originality of its setting, it is our favorite beach of Lanzarote.
On the right side of the creek, on the heights, at the level of the parking, there are three restaurants (to avoid when it is windy ...).
