On the east side of Punta del Papagayo, the beach of Congrio (Playa Caleta del Congrio) stretches below for 300 meters of dunes and ciffs. Narrow following the areas, it is preferred at low tide (or by low coefficient) and by calm sea (avoid windy days because it is not sheltered). Less known and less crowded then the famous beach of Papagayo, it has no equipment. Its isolated side (parkings are far) attract some naturists on the right side (there are shelters with volcanic rock tp protect from the wind but also from prying eyes …). We appreciate its calm and its wild environment. Landscapes are beautiful in this area of Canary.
Access by following the signs indicating the beaches of Papagayo by a trail (paying access, 3€per vehicle). Two parkings, the first one is the one of the beach of Papagayo (you must go to the right from the parking – 300 meters through a dune path). The second one is the one of Congrio (the last parking), we arrive at the level of the campsite. Join the seaside (first creek) then follow the trail on the right.
