Our opinion on the Matagorda Beach
The beach of Matagorda is north of Puerto Del Carmen (near Los Pocillos). The northtern part of the beach is the widest and the most pleasant. However, the airport of Lanzarote is close, with permanent landings and take-offs of planes…disturbing…Beautiful pedestrian promenade along the beach to reach the various bars and restaurants (nothing very typical, we are in the most important seaside destination of Lanzarote, you better have to like bacon eggs…). No problem to stay in the surroundings, many hotels, residences and touristing complexes.

We are on the south side of Matagorda beach, just outside of Los Pocillos. Rather rocky environment at sea level.
Big drawback for this beach, it is very close to the airport of Lanzarote…Many planes pass nearby (visible on this picture).
The northern part is wider and more pleasant (no rocks at the access to the sea).
Pleasant pedestrian promenade that allows you to reach different areas of Puerto Del Carmen. Many restaurants nearby. Some black sandbags remind us that we are in Lanzarote.
