Our opinion on the Martianez Beach
Martianez beach of Puerto de la Cruz (Playa Martianez) is situated in the east part of the seaside resort next to the famous park of Manrique (Lago Martianez). Reduced to a narrow strip of black sand at high tide, this beach is mainly frequented by surfers. Surrounded by buildings of the fifties without real charm (including some hotels), this beach has little interest in our sense (but often agitated, very narrow and un pleasant environment). We will prefer the Jardin beach or the one of Lago Martianez (paid entry).
There is a beach restaurant on the left side. Also many restaurants in San Telmo street (tourist artery of Puerto de la Cruz).
The beach is supervised all year round (be careful of the stream on both ends of the beach that can carry you off to the wide).

The left area is the largest. The right one is covered by the waters at high tide. Neighboring towers are not very nice.
Most people settle on the left side. In the background, we have the Lago Martianez ( park landscaped by Manrique with several pools and restaurants).
Pleasant pedestrian promenade at the junction of the main pedestrian street of Puerto de la Cruz.
From the beach, beautiful view of the north coast of Tenerife which becomes very rocky with cliffs. Beaches are rare leaving Puerto de la Cruz.
In this area, there are many unachieved buildings from the fifties (real estate crisis in Spain).
