Platja Mar Menuda, (or beach of the "small sea"), offers numerous activities. The waves on the beach and the gently shelving seabed make it safe for children who cannot swim so they can enjoy this beach more than its neighbour Platja Gran. Platja de la Mar Menuda is a renowned spot for snorkelling and has a diving school for beginners or advanced divers. In the summer, some small tour boats invite you to visit the coast. And during the holidays, part of the beach is used for various activities for young people. This beach still is the basis for the traditional fishing, although some boats are changing to tourism.
The beach itself has a second pool called "bañera de mujeres" in Castilian, (women's bath). Protected from the waves, this little beach was created, according to legend, in 1236 for Sant Ramon de Penyafort, a saint of the time, to touch the ground. A natural cross in a rock testifies to this event.
Be aware that this beach has a major charm but has no expandable space. In the summer, it is often crowded. It is better to come before or after the high season, or in the morning or late at night, or take advantage of the water sports facilities.
