Just 800 meters as the crow flies from Costa Calma, Esmeralda cove marks the beginningof the desert area of the suburbs of Jandia peninsula. This bracket of sand between dunes and the Atlantic Ocean shows thet there are beautiful coves in Fuerteventura that have not yet been stormed by the promoters…Access is a bit difficult but the reward is huge when you put your towel in this desert corner (or almost…wee see the last buildings of Costa Calma from the car park…it would be enough to build a few more complexes to transform this wild cove into an urban cove…).
Swimming is not supervised in this area and for the moment there is no private beach. In the dunes, there are some naturists (very common on the beaches of Canary Islands).
Access by a track (good condition).
