8 kilometers from the port of Roses, Cala de Montjoi marks the beginning of Cape Creus. Totally different atmosphere for this creek with its preserved environment away from the bustle of Roses. Even though the beach has some sort of beachside camping, attendance is reasonnable compared to the beaches of the city center. The beach is very heterogeneous (mixture of gravel, sand and stones). Good spot for diving and going on a kayak ride.
To reach this creek from the port of Roses, the easiest way is to take the road to Montjoi (accessible by Gran Via de Pau Casals on the right, sign indicating the Dolmen of Creu in Cobertella). The parking of the beach is on the right side before the entry of the summer camp.
Cala Montjoi is at the beginning of the park of Cape Creus. Pleasant environment away from the seaside crowd of Roses.
A pleasant cove with a preserved environment with only a few houses and a holiday camp (kind of camping with bungalows).
Sand, gravel and some stones…it is not the most comfortable creek of Roses but one of the quietest.
Next to the beach, a holiday camp with many activities and a bar.
A nice view on the wide, it changes from the over urbanized coast.
It is a very good spot for kayaking, the coast of the Cape Creus is very nice and difficult to access by the land.
