Port Saplaya is a small municipality 10 km north from Valencia built in the 70’s on the model of a little marina. It is nicknamed Petite Venise, to our senses it lokks more like a mini french Port Grimaud. Do not search for the canals … it is only a port with some notches and numerous buildings in dark tones. The place is pleasant but without a real soul (apart from the ship side near the houses), we are in a residential city with few shops (however a big mall on the south side with a big supemarket).
There are two beaches at Port Saplaya from either side of the Marina (entrance of the port). The two are sandy and well equipped. The passage from a beach to another is delicat, you have to go around the marina (no bridge like we can find at Venise …).
Port Saplaya has a very interesting geographical situation because of its proximity with Valencia. We are 10 minutes by car far from the capital of the municipality of Valencia. North, the interesting cities are a little far, the south coast is more interesting with beautiful wild beaches.
