Beaches in Playa Honda (Canary Islands) Spain - advise, map and photos

Two steps from Puerto del Carmen and from Arrecife, Playa Honda is a small seaside resort of the East coast of Lanzarote. Less known from tourists (yet there is the airport), it is a good base for those who desire to visit Lanzarote (central position) and look for calm.

The city is not very lively, there are only a few restaurants and tapas bars on the seafront. The offer in accommodation is mainly composed of holiday rentals between individuals, hotels are rare in the area (they are mainly in the big touristic areas). The beaches of Playa Honda are pleasant with fine sand and mostly uncrowded. The area is famous for windsurfing (frequent wind but the sea is not agitated in this area).

The resort of Puerto del Carmen is only a few minutes away by car. It is the most animated resort of Lanzarote with a British attendance (we come here to party). North, Arrecife acts as the capital (city of human size). In our opinion, it only deserves a stop (half a day is enough to visit it, To stay there does not seem very wise because the traffic is very difficult.
